On May 5, 2018 the Denver community and PKU advocates around the nation came together for an incredible and memorable evening of fundraising at the “Lifting the Limits for PKU” gala. This special event certainly raised PKU awareness and brought in amazing funds, raised in an event under our Lifting the Limits for PKU campaign!

The event was hosted at the Seawell Ballroom at the Denver Performing Arts Center. More than 200 guests enjoyed a dinner, silent and live auctions, and ended the evening with dessert and dancing. The program was Emceed by 60 Minutes Correspondent Scott Pelley and the Live Auction led by Tracy Onley of the Stokes Auction Group. The evening wasn’t complete without a presentation on PKU by local medical professional Laurie Bernstein MS, RD, FADA, FAND at the University of Colorado and Children's Hospital in Aurora, CO, and doctoral candidate Daelyn Richards presenting on the Gene Editing and CRISPR-Cas9 technology research project led by Dr. Cary O. Harding of Oregon Health and Science University.

The event raised over $400,000 by way of sponsorship, donations, live and silent auctions, and a fund-a-need paddle raise.

Thank you to all who donated items, money and time to this event!
