![]() NPKUA’s inaugural conference, “High Hopes,” was more than just the largest ever gathering of individ- uals and families affected by PKU in the United States. It was a celebration of how far the field has come and a hopeful look ahead at the innovative treatments and research on the horizon.
Click HERE to view Conference Videos The sold-out event attended by more than 330 people from 38 states and four countries, brought together individuals with PKU, their families, clinicians and researchers. Presentations and sessions focused on current PKU treatments and management techniques, as well as promising research that may lead to a cure for this challenging genetic disorder.
Click HERE to download the PowerPoint Presentations In a moving and sometimes tearful tribute, NPKUA honored Dr. Charles Scriver and Dr. Richard Koch, two legendary pioneers who have helped make PKU a manageable condition identified days after birth instead of the tragic diagnosis it once was.
